On the way to the tower it started raining. Earlier morning looked promising, so when the rain started we were disappointed. Not to worry for too long though because by the time we got to the tower the sun was shining! There was already a really long queue and we had no idea how long we would be waiting. But, we were determined to wait it out no matter how long we had to wait.
As it turns out the queue took 2 hours, yep 2 hours to get our tickets. From there it was another half hour to go through security and wait for the lifts to the top. However, once up the top the long wait was soon forgotten. It was a very clear day and we could see for ever.
Within an hour we were back down the bottom. All over. Done and dusted, but worth every minute!
Next stop, since it was now after 1.30pm, was somewhere for lunch. We decided on the "hard rock cafe".
Here we had typically LARGE American meals. It said sandwiches on the menu, but I have to say they were more like big burgers! Very filling. Before we knew it, it was 4.30 and we were just finishing lunch! The hop on hop off bus service finished at 6pm so there really wasn't time left to do anything else. We bused it back to the bottom of the champs élysées and wandered up through the Christmas markets (which finish tomorrow) back to our hotel. Early night in order tonight so we can get away early for Disney tomorrow. The train takes approx 45 min, and since we only have tomorrow and half to two thirds of Monday, we really need to get going as early as possible. Not easy getting Emily moving in the morning!
Until next post,
Yvette and Emily xxoo
