Bonjour deux! (I think that's bonjour 2!)

The night illuminations tour was lovely. Just a shame it started at 9.30pm. By the time it finished 2 hours later we were well and truly over the day and ready to hit the sack.  Bed was never more inviting - except that first sleep in your own bed after holidays!  The Eiffel Tower at night didn't disappoint. Every hour on the hour the old girl (as it is known locally) sparkled brilliantly for about 5-10min.  Of course the tour is timed to coincide with this and since we arrived with time to spare we were able to get off the bus which allowed me to find somewhere to prop up the camera for photos!  Mind you the photos don't do it justice.

Before the sparkly lights.

With the sparkly lights (just need to crop them when I get home).

Champs élysées at night.

The highlight for us was the Moulin Rouge.  As we didn't stop to get off the bus I couldn't take any photos with the camera, only my phone. That was disappointing.  Paris is very pretty at night and even more so at Christmas time. The lights and Christmas decorations are so beautiful.

Resting camera on ledge - bit crooked. If I get another chance I'll try again to get a straight one!

Driving back up the Champs élysées at 11.30 was like peak hour. There was so much traffic it was unbelievable.

I think we were both asleep within a minute of hitting our pillows!

Today we went back to the moulin rouge to take some photos during the day and see if we could get tickets to a show.  We were so keen and I got quite excited. Tickets aren't cheap but I heard that its an amazing experience. My excitement was increasing by the minute!  Unfortunately, it wasn't meant to be. The 2 shows tonight are fully booked out and there are only tickets available tomorrow night for the 11pm show.   Show goes for 2 hours meaning an extremely late night the night before heading to Disneyland.  Not a good idea!  Well, talk about disappointed.  Took me a little while to get over that - came to the conclusion that I will need to return to Paris once again specially to see a Moulin Rouge show!  Already thinking and planning Ken!  Lol

Today's bus route took us to the Sacre Coeur.  Didn't go there last time so that was really good. Just a shame it came over a little cloudy while we were there.

Parisian KFC. Just for you Mitch.

We had just decided to brave the queues at the Eiffel Tower to go to the top so we were heading back to the room to drop off some things when the heavens opened on us. Sad face.  We got caught in quite a heavy shower of rain.  I say shower cos it didn't last long. Long enough to wet us pretty good though. That was about 4pm and it has been showering ever since, so that put an end to our trip to the top of the Eiffel Tower.

Luckily for us we managed to see all the major sites and everything we wanted to see yesterday and today before the weather turned. If the rain continues, we have a few things we can do tomorrow out of the rain:  go into the Louvre (Em keen for this), we could go to a choc museum/factory or there is an aquarium we could visit. I just hope the weather is ok for Disney.  Fingers crossed!

Now to decide what to do about dinner....

Au revoir,
Yvette & Emily xxoo
